Fears

God has pumped in many emotions in all the creatures of the world and our learnings though life depend on how we wade through these emotions. Fear is one of the biggest feelings that drive these emotions. Fear of losing societal prestige, fear of losing financial status, fear of losing love, fear of losing health, or fear of losing life etc etc!!! Why do we fear all these "fears"? Is it because we are too dependent on others to validate what we think or are we too attached with life that we dont want to progress....are we too scared to witness what is beyond these fears? I, like many others, feel that I do not fear anything but that is not true. I might not fear death or I might not need people to validate me but I might fear on other aspects.

I have always encountered situations wherein I just needed to push myself a little to go beyond the imagination of being successful. There is a very thin line between a fear and an overwhelming happiness. We also know that fears we dont face become our limits but still fear persists!! Running away from fears amplifies those fears and then we fear that bigger fear and it further gets bigger and the journey continues...

So what do we need to get rid of them? Do we risk taking a head-on collision everytime with these fears or do I take precautionary measures and move slowly? I cant be too sure but I feel the answer lies in the gut feeling - that tiny voice from within. If I believe in something with all my heart, I "know" I would do it.....if I trust someone I look into his/her eyes and "know" I would believe that person. So it is a state of "completeness" i guess. We face our fears when we "trust" ourselves....when we listen to that silence and feel content with what we have. Death would have no significance when we would realize the purpose of life & fulfill it up to the hilt. Losing anything to the materialistic or spiritual world would mean nothing when we would grow beyond its meaning. We must not act in the absence of fear but despite it!

There are still many surrounding questions - the quest of getting answers to which continues.

Does God listen to us?

Every human being has his/her own unique life story and cycles of good+bad days. Such smooth roads and tough patches help us question our belief systems and molds us into either a stronger or a weaker person. I, being a God-believer, rests my support system on Him and constantly seeks ways to absorb the intensity of the  situation. Of late, I have been noticing a pattern emerging in all those incidences. At a macro level - my life is the reflection of my experiences & what I perceive is important in my life...meaning the current state is the result of my thoughts. If I believed in certain principles and wanted to abide by them strongly, then I was presented with situations, which tested those beliefs and I decided to stick to what I wanted to.

I often wonder how sometimes things happen the way I want and sometimes they dont. Why those hunches give me a satisfaction of taking the right decision. What are those hunches or instincts? Is God showing me the way or is it only a self-proclaimed voice coming from inside? Is it always correct or is that the opinion of my own belief system? I just lied down yesterday and tried to listen to all the voices around. I could hear that noise coming out of lifts of my apartment, someone's laugh, bird talks, loud brakes of cars/bikes etc. And then everything started settling down. I could hear my stomach making some noises and then it became all silent. There was peace and I started pondering over my problems. Yet after thinking about all that - there was a serenity around. I stopped thinking about my stuff and was silent. Core-silence .... It was amazing ... and then the door-bell rang and I woke up.I must be the laziest person on this planet not to indulge in this silence luxury on a daily basis. I have become a multi-tasking queen these days - not something I feel proud of though because it is making me busy with no time to "think". Got to discipline myself. High time to do that.

Questioning our own belief system might lead us to correct what is not and perhaps I could hear those instincts more clearly & loudly as I spend more time with them.

Life - the project!

Project planning is crucial - is what we learn daily. I wonder that life is one of the bigget projects in our lives yet we still do not plan it well. Or perhaps the planning does not help much. The scope of this project varies all the time. As a kid - my whole world used to revolve around my parents, siblings and home. Ability to write my full name in nursery used to be an achievement in itself ... ability to sketch a simple lotus flower (sketching means copying ;) ) used to draw compliments from every corner. An evening cricket match with my brother used to be the biggest game ever. I fail to recollect how these small days turned into weeks, months, years and decades. Gosh - its been quite a while!!! Accomplishment of one milestone lead to another and that never ending race is still in progress. However, life is too short to stop dreaming. Timelines are sensitive - I hope I am able to live with all these constraints and still be able to execute the project till a respectable end.

Rockstar

"Movie was great ... Ranbir Kapoor acted really well....I got bored .....etc etc - All I could hear was "talks .... yes lots of them" ... as I was walking down the stairs towards parking. Well, I was one of them too.

Movie started with lots of expectations. The director gave a short glimpse of the story in the beginning to keep you glued to the screen wondering how it all happened. Imtiaz Ali kept doing it throughout the movie and yes, he was really successful in scattering the story and then bringing all pieces back together to move the curiosity at various levels.

Passion towards a cause/hobby/interest can make someone do anything. Jordan wanted to be a Rockstar but nothing was working out. And then like a true champion, he analyzed the situation and tried to bridge the gap between where he was and what he wanted to become. Out of innocence - he wonders why he had no pain in life and like they say "be careful of what you wish for, you might just get it".

What I really liked in the movie was the importance of journey in one's life. It might not be about destination after all. Even after achieving all he wanted in life- (his passion of becoming a Rockstar), Jordan was not happy. He could/did not even enjoy the happiness of reaching the destination. It meant nothing to him when he reached the target. The passion had transformed in between.

Sometimes we long for something ... wish to get it somehow and surprisingly, that thing turns out to be non-relevant & unimportant when we actually get it.

Music was amazing. A R Rehman is a genius and so is the voice of Mohit Chauhan. Loved the combination! The songs were not embedded into the movie but those were instrumental in taking the story forward. Brilliant work! "Sadda Haq" is one of my favs but I found the situation a little inappropriate for the song in the movie. Perhaps it was - given the personality that Jordan had. 2 lines that caught my attention very deeply (Fayakun song): "Ho mujh pe karam sarkar tera ... arj tujhe kar de mujhe ... mujhse hi reeha ... ab mujhko bhi ho deedar mera ...ab kar de mujhe mujh se hi riha". Additionally, I loved that Jugalbandi of Shehnai and Guitar --- simply great.

Climax could not impress me much. It could have been better. An innocent, cute, fun loving Jordan gets transformed into someone else in second half of the movie and it was kind of sad. They say - pain makes a person either very strong or very weak. The director chose to make Jordan the latter. Jordan never even attempts to re-unite with his family, whom he claimed in the beginning to have given him a smooth, happy life. It was sad to see the heroine in that situation....c'mon guys it was a movie after all - a miracle could have happened :)

Oh yeah - this was Nargis Fakhri's debut movie however she dint do justice to her role. Ranbir Kapoor deserves a great applause. He lived the character perfectly.

Overall - I liked the movie and now I'm listening to the songs. Gaana.com is the official partner in making of this movie (saw it when the movie started) ..........that explains now why Rockstar album is not available on musicindiaonline.com. lol

Feeling sleepy

As a kid I always used to think that there is a reason for my existence and that I'll find it one day. Today I do not know where am I going?!?! I can see short term destinations but who has seen the future. Things never go as per the plan then why do I care about future or keep thinking about past. My religious heart asks me to follow a part that is not completely in sync with what is expected out of me ... perhaps because I do not agree with few sayings. My personal belief has always been to be a good human being and this "goodness" is of course a relative term. I do not want to hurt people and that is my one of the definition of being good. However, I wont say I have never hurt anyone in life ... yes unintentionally many times. Good or bad, happy or sad, love or hatred - there is no concrete definition of these words. Everyone does what he or she feels like. Interestingly I do not even know the threshold or extend to measure the love or happiness or goodness in my life. I can just feel it and sometimes it comes out as tears. Pretty ironic!

My mind is currently in a confused mass of protoplasm state. I want to do 100 things but not taking any steps towards them. Mum has always been right - I am the most laziest person in this world. Well, to think of it...I like to be lazy on weekends.....it is so much fun! Just lay around, watch TV, order food, sleep and sleep and sleep....(need to discipline myself....aaaah)

Diwali is coming - one of my favorite festivals. Still wondering how to celebrate it this year. Okay it is 1 am right now and time to bed. Yawnnnn.......

People Management

The topic I always wanted to explore, the experience that I always wanted to have - people management. I started my (official) sailing on this boat a few months ago and so far the journey has been good if not great.

It is so amazing to see that people perceive same event in n number of ways. Some crib, few others just get along and others drift apart. The difference just lies in the attitude. And my job is to take everyone together in a common direction. That is one hell of a task. Being a libran, a quality is in-built in me i.e to be fair and balanced as far as possible in my statements/opinions and I am glad that helps me in taking few decisions. I can certainly agree that technology management is easier than people management.

Interestingly a pattern is developing from the last couple of weeks - whenever any challenging situation or negativity comes to me, I take myself  to a distant corner and think from a third person's opinion. What the other person might be thinking when he/she approached me with that action and sometimes I also think what meaning does this negativity will have in my life in future (just an experience?). So I either approach the solution in a manner unexpected by the person or ignore it. (Disclaimer: Actions are not 100% successful so far....yeah kinda difficult to implement under few critical situations. This little but difficult ego starts playing its role....lol)

Perception is a good topic. What is right for one person might be completely wrong for another. A terrorist never says he/she is killing innocent people, a thief might give 10 reasons explaining his actions. A pune's incident is in news these days, a girl set her ex-boyfriend and his present fiancee on fire. I still do not understand how people can go to an extend of killing someone? I have faced a similar situation in past and perhaps a good reason for me to accept that people 'can' go completely mad at times. I saw that person losing his self to an extent that nobody can imagine in his/her wildest dreams. Ok...let me not drift away.

Aah - movie time now. Will pen more thoughts later.

Germany

Hamburg, the city I have landed for a few days to live in. I am so mesmerized by the beauty of nature ... love the serenity of this place. Helmut took us for a long drive-cum-walk-cum-sightseeing today. I felt like sitting forever with my eyes closed near that river. Isn't it strange that we forget to enjoy the waves kissing the shore, a soft blow of wind touching your cheeks....in this busy life? I loved to see those huge creepers on the walls of bungalows, those clean small lanes down the hill to a park where people gather for a barbeque, those dogs playing so excitedly with their respective owners!! Man, it was an experience when we had coffee on that luxurious boat around the harbour. This is life......you spend quality time with others n most importantly with yourself.

Europe always has a soft corner in my heart....perhaps thats why I can relate to people and mingle with them so nicely.

After listening to so many rock, pop, soft english music..............when I heard "Aankhon ke sagar" by Fuzon, I could not help replaying it time n again. In short, had a wonderful day today.

Just a cup of black tee now and I am done for the day. Looking forward to seeing some more masterpieces in Vienna.

Back to my world

Feeling nostalgic and missing all moments of my life in Hyderabad. As I re-read all the articles today I got overwhelmed.

Hopefully I'll return back to this space very soon..

New York

New York, the most populous city in the United States and the Center of international affairs is one of the destinations I would definitely like to go sometime. But this is not at all about the location "New York" ...it is the movie I managed to see yesterday (thanks to my boss who conveniently agreed to grant me a break for it...sshhhhh :P )

I had great expectations from the movie not because I have not seen any flick from the past 2-3 months but because I somehow liked the promos very much! Katrina K appeared very lively and John A & Neil Nitin M were ....were....well....they looked wow!

So its like i already knew John is a terrorist and that KK and JA would die in the climax....but alas! the story managed to keep the interest alive. The initial college days of the threesome never reminded me of mine :| :| but i liked it! The scene when NNM gets a pic clicked at the entrance of college was --> :D ....i bet i would have done the same if I were to join my dream college. The best part was the trust and faith all of them had in each other.

The director conveyed a meaningful message in such a simple way - quite admirable. There was no criticism in the entire movie and yet the communication was crisp and clear. Things will not be fair every time but it is our decision to chose the path of our life. I agree that right or wrong are relative terms but the outcome of right decision is only "right" and wrong is only "wrong". You got to decide! It is not easy to overcome the depression and sadness when you lose your dignity and self-respect b'coz that is human nature. You may not be able to forgive people easily ...but bad times ought to be forgotten.

Also...being emotional is not bad at all, as some people say, but emotions should be your strength and not weakness. Your respect is in your arms - its the way you see it. And we must learn to forgive....its the best medicine to move ahead in life!

The movie becomes extremely emotional towards the end and you cannot leave the audi with dry eyes for sure. The loyalty of NNM for his friends was commendable, even in turbulent times he held his head firmly on his shoulders - he believed in himself and his friends! He never ditched them and was always hopeful to bring things back to normal. Performance-wise KK was definitely in her best forms and so was JA...NNM was no exception as well. And yes, how can i forget Irfan K!! He is one of those fine actors who can tote such critical subjects with ease....and of course his distaste for pasta..haha! superb actor he is...

Music was exemplary..."Hai Junoon" was my favourite till i watched the movie....and now its "Tune Jo Na Kaha" as well - very serene and soothing to my eardrums!

Overall - it is a very meaningful and thought provoking movie - a message that needs to be conveyed to the whole world. We've got ONLY one life and we must utilize it to make things beautiful...there is so much to do!

May God bless us All

"Things which matter most should never be at the mercy of things which matter least"

Sometimes I feel being in heaven and wish time stands still in there. This weekend was really good – mum is finally convinced I CAN cook something and I’m so glad she is relieved. Lol! And today Sunny and I had a loooooong discussion about our lives, our careers, our aims, people around us etc etc. It is really amazing to share your thoughts with your brother when you can actually laugh at the moments spent together, when you can discuss about your dream world, when you can crib about the people you have to adjust at times, when you can guide each other (we know each other soooo well......damn :P) and when your brother listens to your request and makes that best tea in the world!!! Since mum is not supposed to do heavy work these days, we both cleaned up our home and I enjoyed our spats completely; I kicked him so many times, hit him, hugged him.....my sweetest Bro!! Love you Sun....May God bless you with everything you wish for. I think I can never enjoy this much.... anywhere else but with my family!

My room fills me with lots of positive energy – I feel I can do anything in this world. As they say "darkness is only the absence of light", i do feel problems are nothing but our thoughts. Anytime we think a problem is there, that thought itself is the problem. We can conquer anything in this life with a winning thought - just need to learn to play, write, read, relax, get involved, love and care; care for the people touching our lives. Bring a smile on anyone’s face and feel the tremendous consequences coming out of it – this feeling is second to none.

Oh man! This is my first blog of year 2009 – well not bad at all. I hope I keep on filling the disk space of blogger servers a bit more frequently.

Cheers!

N-Dimentional thoughts…

"Oye! Its Saturday today" was the first thought that came to my mind in the morning and I woke up with a smile. Had a very peaceful day – I’d say one of the best Saturday’s in the last couple of weeks.

Thoughts – they come & go and leave something behind for you to ponder over them forever. I love to sit on the floor, open the almirah and take out our photo albums and then remember all our childhood days, those special functions and laughing at every posture of my siblings, family, my friends and yes (I must admit) of mysef. God, I used to look so funny. Time just flies away – today I’m capable of doing many things, I’ve responsibilites to handle, my words matter a lot and then I’ve my dreams, aims and a life to live…

I wanted to become an astronaut at some point of time and after watching one Discovery channel’s hoarding today on my way back – that thought cropped up again. I really dream of seeing earth from a distance and then look around all the stars from space (not by staying on earth atleast). NDTV good times is a nice channel and they showed some beautiful places in Kerala today – I love watching nature and so I’d visit it soon. I also want to go on a cruise some day – a big cruise – travelling for atleast a month. That would be so nice – only water beneath and sky on the top….awesome Rupinder! Well, this list is endless but I’ll keep adding to it – my bucket list :)

At the same time, I feel myself to be responsible enough to aid people in need. Not exactly related to this aim of mine ….but last Sunday I went to the railway station for some work. It was early morning and mum asked me to wait for some time (45 mins ….that was not “some” …grrr). Anyways….I tried to pass my time looking at the local people there. I could spot one beggar in my front mirror and I watched him for 10-15 mins. He was perfectly normal but he sat on the road and moved his right hand up to pretend like a retarded person. Gosh…my face turned just like the “surprise” emoticon of Yahoo Messenger. It was 7-7:15 am and people were opening their shops, cleaning the surroundings. I really liked to be a part of them that day!

Then the news channels (talking about the recent Mumbai attacks) – they all urge me to become an army personnel. I salute our Army from the bottom of my heart…losing your “LIFE” for someone else is such a genuine, a noble and a courageous act. I really do not understand what takes a 21 yrs old man to become a terrorist but I do understand and respect the spirit of a 31 yrs old man to give his life for the people of his nation. Hats off to you all - who fought for us, who protected us and who still stand like a wall surrounding us for our safety.

And then last but not the least I think of finishing all my responsibilities successfully.
Amen!

Title??? ummm..hmmm...ammmm

The weather is all perfect to go on for long drives these days. Unfortunately, my driving route encounters heavy Begumpet traffic before I reach my office. But the best part is that it gives me more time to enjoy my favourite numbers ;)...was listening to one Rock On song (yeh tumhari meri baatein) when the sky appeared so beautiful to me; I could spot 2-3 layers of clouds - the ones in the lowest layer were chasing each other as if they were playing some Olympic game, the second layer was supervising the lowest layer and the top layer was silent as if watching each of them with patience. It seemed so perfect and so natural to me. And then my eyes came down and I thanked God for I can appreciate the beauty of nature - and the very next moment I witnessed the plight of a small girl asking me for some money. It was so ironic, I wondered if that girl had had ever looked at the clouds in that way. But I cant be so sure, perhaps she did.....I get sad...sad to the core when I see somebody in pain. Yesterday itself I entered into an argument with Mum when she was about to kill a poor cockroach...I had to drag the small creature out of the home somehow ...to save it (well, that was a big task :|).

Well...Its Diwaliiii tomorrow - festivals instill a different kind of excitement in all of us! Atleast I feel great to celebrate such moments...it bonds us together. Moreover, I just love the lighting all around...isn't it amazing to see sky full of multi-colored lights, all those crackers, the delicious food at home, the candles in gurudwaras and the diyas all around! Complete aeshhh...

I hope to have a good time and wish that this Diwali and the coming new year brings with it a lot of happiness, peace n prosperity! God bless...

Attitude and you!

"Hey!"..."Good morning guys"..."Hello, how was the weekend?" these are one of the few ways I (want and ) usually start my day in office! It definitely makes me feel energetic in the beginning hours (the drowsiness an hour after opening my laptop is another matter though, we all need a tea break in the morning; dont we? ;)).

I really love putting myself completely into whatever I do and if there is a single doubt or uncertainty in any corner of my heart, I would not succeed 70% of the times. I strike a ratio of around 60-40% of optimism and pessimism (bad score but yeah I'll improve!). These numbers mature with experience and what we need to do is to focus on our weaknesses keeping our strengths in mind. Once you know where you are wrong, the next moment you see perfection embracing you gracefully.

Sometimes people wants to change their jobs just because of ego clashes, for their inefficiency to gel with the people around etc. I think there is no worse time to look for a new job than when you hate the one you have. Rather we should try to change our attitude and get to the root of our problems so we can get the most from the current job — and maybe even like it again.

I believe this aspect goes well with any any kind of situation. The more I learn from my mistakes, the more i feel i need to work on. Our lives are sometimes like a sacred book, you get a new meaning every time you read the same sentence when the fact is that there is only one significance to it!

Chao till next time..

"Cast your cares on God; that anchor holds"

Do you ever stare into the mirror not wondering at what you see but wondering at what you dont see, what is within your heart, what makes you so lively, what motivates you..what drives you to make your dream a reality....why despite all failures you still feel confident that you will succeed...Do you ever see any answers or do you just find more questions?

In tough times and terrible moments, what do I do? Should I demand that God please fix my problem ...make them fade away or help me find a way out so i can run away or should I ask how he is revealing His self in these situations and ask for enough wisdom and strength to go through it?

I heard someone saying "Hardship and trial come by two ways, by God's will and by our disobedience." and i feel either way there is learning. Waheguru loves us, he is with us always...he dreams great for our lives...but should I risk to follow that dream?? hmmmm...

We were discussing on "fearing God" at lunch table today. I asked my pals and got various replies. I am thinking as to why should we be afraid of God when we say he is with us all the times...he loves us. But again at the same time, we should be afraid of Him as he can punish us anytime for our wrong deeds.

Sometimes i feel He has a plan for us, he has dreamt something for us, he wants somebody to instruct us, he wants us to treasure some moments, he wants us to move ahead, he wants us to be perfect ...the way everyone should be. He knows us so well that our fears, weaknesses, strengths are all part of the plan. Our fears are our limits...the boundaries which He will make us cross. I believe in Him...and so will i act....i'll move in the direction he has chosen for me. May He direct and guide me to become the woman of His choice!!! :)

Listening to the silence!

I've often wondered how we walk through the lanes of life, how the priorities keep on changing as we move ahead. Sometimes we don’t see anything in dark but still find our way out. I believe in "that" force which is driving us.

As a child, my ultimate desire at EOD had always been to convince mum for letting us play a little longer in the evening. She used to sit along with us for finishing the homework and we three innocently looking at each other used to plan "something" for getting out of the room...i guess thats when i started liking cricket so much. The priority was to play (come wat may be...). :-) I had my favourite subjects in school...and today i think it was all because of my teachers. I never liked my History ma'am (not that i hated her...please mind it!! :P ) and thats why i never liked this subject also. I was the favourite student of my maths and english teachers and therefore those were "the interesting" subjects too: P :P. So it depends a lot on the teachers to develop that likeliness in the subject (deep thought........). Then there were times when i became a true Indian, a patriotic heart which used to cry so much thinking of our freedom fighters. All the 15th aug and 26th Jan movies on Doordarshan were a must must watch. The priority had changed a bit. With time, studies were on peak and the "career" too. That competition, those thoughts of doing something...changed the priorities too. Knowingly...unknowingly there was something to achieve. And later the final entry into the world, the college…. and with time a job in hand! At every point of time, there was an aim, a faith which like an infection was easy to catch and impossible to stamp out.

With all the personal and professional experiences, i've witnessed the "me"...myself; and m no less than proud of it!! :-)

I dream of getting a restful sleep "every" night, waking up refreshed and invigorated...a dream to live in a landscape which would resound with an eloquent silence under the inverted bowl of the sky where you share your experiences with ur loved ones, where u "live" ur life!!!

There are many milestones to cross, many desires to be fulfilled, many hopes to keep up, many aims to achieve!!!

Hmmm..

I am coming

I know it's wrong
So I commit to it
I laugh at the clean, black emptiness
Of the unknown before me
I laugh heartily
Knowing the darkness can hear me
And while the Angels would hush me
I bellow out with arms extended
I am here.
Free!
And though I respect you, Great Beyond
Today, with your attention
I let you know…
I am coming!

Women's Day!

Holiday honors people or events and one of those meaningful days is today – Women’s day! There is life because of her, she makes living a life, she makes house a home, she nurtures happiness in a family, she goes out of the way to care for her loved ones, she is strong, she is bold & dynamic & progressive, she is beautiful and that "she" resides in me! :-)

All the newspapers were full of appreciation for today’s women – for managing home and establishing herself as a successful professional in the outside world. Undoubtedly this deserves an applause for all the women because she has the power to organize a shambolic environment, she tote that love for her closed ones, she helps you see the shore when you in middle of a turbulent ocean, she gives you hope, she lights candle towards the right road, she is the dor of your life!!

I have always adored Mother Teresa for her determination, that perseverance towards such an admirable cause. Even if I could do a bit of what she did, it would be worth my life. Many women have influenced my being and on this special occasion I would like to specially thank my mom and sis for being a tremendous support every time. I’m thankful to my mom for bringing that glass of water every morning to wake me up, for making me eat the breakfast at any cost, for listening to my crap in the evenings, for cooking those special dishes every time we demand, for hugging me when I’m sad, for making me thank God for good, for buying those cute dresses and accessories she thinks would look great on me :-) basically for everything. Love you mummm! And of course the same goes for my cutie cutie sister. Her strongness, calmness and that willpower has always inspired me in my life. I thank you for making me smile, for guiding me always, for holding me strong when I fall, for not judging me when I lose my mind, for trusting, loving and for being with me always. I miss our occasional spats sis…I just miss being with you! Love you a lot!!!! And I don’t want to overlook this opportunity to thank my father and brother as well. You all are part of me and I respect and love you all!

Not to forget I would like to thank all my friends too who have been with my ups and downs, who celebrates my success, my happiness, who understands me. I thank you for listening to me when you are busy, for all those surprise gifts, for shutting your mouth when I’m angry, for taking those zabardasti ki treats, for making that cup of tea or getting that bottle of coke, for making me realize that i'm th best :-) :-) . In short, for being there even after knowing all about me ;) ;)

Man, this is like getting an Oscar award and thanking everyone out there. But trust me, when I see so many nice people around me, it feels no less than that.

I just wish everyone to be happy always – God bless us!! I just watched one of my favourite movies today – "Dor" and here’s a few lines I liked the most, remember them (and remind me :-) ) when down!

"Yeh Hosla Kaise Juke….Yeh Aarzoo Kaise Ruke…Manzil Muskil to kya…Bundla Sahil to kya..... Hooo…"

Lets raise a toast for ourselves and celebrate the occasion!!

Unforgettable moment...

Don't remember if I've ever had a more visceral reaction to any incident recently than I did to what happened today. I was traveling in an auto amidst heavy traffic when at a junction, i noticed a small pigeon stuck in middle of the road, trying its best to fly and the cars were zooming besides it like anything. For a second, i got scared to witness the plight of the poor bird but the next moment i could spot a traffic guy looking at me. I waived at him and pointed to the struggling creature and to my amazement, he started walking towards the road, raised his hand up and stopped the traffic for a while. He lifted the pigeon gently and carried it to a safe place near the junction. I gave him a thumps up and a big smile!!!!! (God, that was a moment) I wanted to thank him personally but it was too late as my auto guy zoomed ahead with the changed green signal in front of us.

I felt so good! I guess such moments just give you a feeling that cannot be explained. But yes, it deserves to be part of my blog to be cherished forever and of course three cheers for that traffic man!

Heaven on earth!

A beautiful day..i can capture the moments in my camera but just felt like weaving them into a series of words. Sitting in my room and watching the drops of rain striking against the window is somehow making me feel wonderful! The birds swaying high...black clouds and a bright spot of light visible amidst a few - huge ships....small boats...the lightening...the still water...big buildings enjoying the shower :-) - the view is just breathtaking!

I’ve started thinking about my life in general. How speedy it has become these days. The serenity of the “life” is lost, I feel. In pursuit of happiness, we are chasing “time” as fast as possible. Jump off the bed in the morning – get ready – attack the breakfast plate – the “office world” – socialize - crib about people irritating you - reach home with the left over energy -- watch TV for sometime - spend some quality time with your family/friends (if you are amongst those privileged ones).

I wonder if this is actually what is meant by a peaceful, quality and good life. Life has taken a super duper fast lane – readymade meals are available; the task is just to chew it and swallow the stuff (which will also get automated with time, I’ve full faith in our technology :-) ) – no need to go out for fresh air; ACs are far better…right!?! – Take short cuts wherever possible – ever watched a movie without fast-forwarding some boring numbers – we do everything to conclude the jobs before time. But wait a moment, where is the speed breaker Boss? I think we need to pause our everyday activities for some time daily and “cash out” those special moments with our interests, our likings – in short with ourselves!

Got to rush now...will continue with my incredible thoughts laterz!

A Poem..

This poem is given in the Egyptian section of the INDIAN MUSEUM, Kolkata. The beauty of the poem is the type of thoughts that were there even such a long time ago.

THE WISDOM OF ANY

When you are a young man
When you take a wife and set up a home
Remember how your mother brought you into the world
And with what embracing care she nurtured you

Do not let your conduct in the household be too high and mighty
Never lord it on your wife
If you know that she is a gentle hearted woman
Do not say to her “where is so and so? Bring it here!”
When she has put it away carefully in some safe place

Keep her beneath your eyes and watch her silently
In appreciation of her worth
She is contented with your hand rest upon her.
